Week 1 in Baltimore

Ok so this has been the most amazing week of my life so far. My companion is amazing! Her name is Sister Schofield, she is from St George, UT and she has only been out for 6 weeks. It is like we are already best friends! So much fun. So Saturday we had a baptism. It was for a man named Brother Jimmy. His daughter joined first, and she was marrried in the temple like 2 years ago and has a baby. Then his wife, Sister Jimmy joined like 2 months ago. Then this saturday Brother Jimmy joined. One of the coolest experiences ever. I have only known them since wednesday but they treat me like family and I love them. They are from Africa. Then at church on sunday their two other daughters told us they would like us to start teaching them!!! I LOVE the Jimmys! I have never had so many experiences where the spirit prompts me to say or do something and I just act on it, and the person says "That is exactly what i needed". Heavenly Father has been blessing us and answering us so much. We try so hard to be EXACTLY obedient and I think that is why the work is going so well. Ok I LOVE riding my bike! I feel like the wicked witch of the west riding a bike in a skirt but it is so much fun. I serve in the most beautiful area I have ever seen. It is like out of a movie! So greeen and amazing. Every turn is breath taking. I love being a missionary so much. It is really hard work but the most rewarding work there is. Today we balled it up with all the elders in our zone for like two hours! I have never been so sweaty in my life. Sister Schofield and I tore it up. I am serving in the Savage Mill ward and it is awesome how excited this ward is about missionary work. They are so supportive and are always helping us out. We have a car but we have limited miles so that is why we ride our bikes a lot. So many funny stories already from biking around.

SIncerely,

Sister Brookie Swisher

Last night we had a "Why I Believe" fireside. It was all newly converted members speaking. WOW it was great. I think it's a small glimps into what you are living every day. We all are excited to hear about your adventures as a Missionary in Baltimore! YOU GO AND ROCK THE TOWN! WE LOVE YOU!!
